I also got a couple early eggs from one of my pullets, but then she quit again. i think it was just a hiccup in the system. her comb is only now starting to redden (early april hatch)

I'm glad you posted this... I was just questioning why my little pullet had stopped laying her petite eggs as well. I did believe she had started earlier than expected. They have ample feed, oyster shell, fresh water, and bug, slugs, snails, frogs, and apparently mice galore! She's happy as a clam and healthy to boot! Must definitely be a hiccup!
 
oh crap
mine are 18 weeks now!!! is there a way to tell when they are about to start? someone said something about combs reddenning?
the combs get larger and redder just before they start laying, and will continue to grow for several months after they start laying (the combs that is)...
