Very nice. Ed's Colored's are quite lovely. I have two of his colored hens here. There have excellent feather quality.

Coloreds are a challenge to breed because of color variation. However, if there were five or more breeders willing to concentrate on them, we could work as a club to enter the RC Colored into the Standard.

I can't wait to see them. I would like to know more about getting them in the standard.

Something about gas prices and bills....I stopped listening after the no.

Well, I'm one step closer to becoming a Dorking addict. I have eggs on their way, but am looking for more. I can't wait to start working with this breed. We have actually decided to build another coop specifically for breeding Red Dorkings. Looking forward to contibuting to this thread, instead of just lurking...

That pic about sexing chicks is for Silvers as far as I could tell. Is there any info specifically for Reds? I'm pretty sure someone was talking about it a while back...

I did get one silver chick again this week and it is a male. So the system definitely works for them, but all the reds have a pretty nicely shaped triangle on their heads. I can't tell the difference other than just guessing. Maybe the males have a slightly less defined triangle?

My (limited) experience is that the females have a very defined triangle on the head... sharp edges, intense color. The males have a less defined, washed-out triangle of color on the head. Works for SGs and Reds.
