B.Y.C. Dorking Club!

I guess the whites I have carry the cuckoo gene. I think its interesting that a solid white male and a solid white female could produce cuckoo birds which happened to me.

Where did you get these Whites?

Two girls have started laying!

Cuckoo is a recognized variety in the Standard. I would like to know if your white female has no cuckoo gene and you breed her to a Silver Grey what would the offspring would look like?

it could be dominant white, which is heterozygous on both birds, in which case, if the chick got the non=white gene from both parents it wouldn't be white, but if the parets are throwing non-whites, i'm wondering what else was mixed in...

I purchased 2 trios from Ed Hart. He is the one that told me that a Silver Grey over the white produced half cuckoo birds. I know he used a Silver Grey on this whites. So that is why I think I am hatching cuckoo birds.

I just sold em for layers and the males I think went into there freezer. I'm sure I will hatch more next year.

unfortunately my entire flock is either moulting, on strike, or hiding their eggs so well even the dogs can't find them.17 dorking girls, i collected 2 eggs today.
