Babies due Saturday! :D

So this is how he was standing this morning. :) He's walking like a champ. He's getting more tired as the day goes on and spending more time on his hocks, but when he does get up he walks like this. He's much smaller than his brother/sister. He seems to be doing well, so I have hope for him.

If you don't stop posting pics of this cute thing I'm going to come chicknap him! Just kidding...

Hope he grows up fine. Looking good so far.

@Sumi: LOL You can't chicknap him! I've worked too hard to birth him! =P

@Madi: They are still soft, but yes, less so. The bottom of his feet are toughening up much more quickly than I thought they would.

Oh my goodness! I just read your whole thread! What an adventure hatching sounds like...but well worth it because your babies are absolutely gorgeous!

I'm getting ready to start incubating some eggs this weekend...it'll be my first batch ever and I'm so nervous! There seems to be sooo many things that can go wrong.

Congratulations again! I love the pictures, keep em coming :D

Wow, I can't believe you read all that! =P

Ooh! You will have to start a thread keeping us updated on your hatch! I love, love, watching babies hatch and the journey to get there.
Don't be too worried about the things that could go wrong. I had very good experiences up until now. A few sad moments, but the good totally outweighs the bad! I hope you enjoy it every bit as much as I do. :)

I'll be posting pictures as often as I can think to. You guys may have to remind me. Don't hesitate to. I'm very busy and forgetful. Not a good combination.

don't be nervous! like LaynaDon said it's not always this hard! i just had my first hatch ever 2 1/2 weeks ago and it was sooo exciting!! there's always ups and downs... i had one chick that was giving me problems in the beginning too but everything worked out great!! keep us posted on your hatch!

My bantam hen showed up this morning. She drank some, ate some, walked around with her rooster for a few minutes and then promptly disappeared again. I was inside when she left again, so I still don't know where she's nesting, but it's good to know that she is nesting. I haven't been finding her eggs for 2 weeks, so there's no telling how many eggs she's sitting on. One of my other hens has also been hiding her eggs, but she's a Barnevelder, so I doubt she's building a nest. But if she's sharing a nest with the bantam, that's double the eggs. 0.0 I hope she doesn't walk out with with 28 babies. (Not that I think she will, but hey, ya never know.) Actually I wouldn't mind, but I think my dad would have a cow. I can only imagine his response. "Dad, the bantam showed up with her babied today." "Oh, how many did she hatch?" "28"

He would probably faint...

Oh My! At least she showed up and you know she's out nesting somewhere!

FX that some [not 100] babies show up with their momma soon!
