Babies in shipping

Tracking update at 3am saying they were at our distribution center. YAY!
No call this morning. Boo.
Called the post office and they said that, yes, they did get a box of ducklings today YAY!
For someone not at my address. Boo.
Phone rings. Post office on caller id. YAY!
Ducks are in a different town. Boo.
Someone from the other post office will bring them up at 9:30. Yay?
Fingers crossed that's the end of the shipping roller coaster!

My tracking still just says in transit. I just called my post office to make sure they know they're coming. She said they're probably still in California since the last time it was scanned was in San Jose. She thinks I shouldn't expect them until probably Saturday. :hitI feel sick to my stomach thinking about the poor babies.
Mine had no updates between the main hubs on the shippers end and my end. Still no update saying that it arrived at another post office, either.

I would go ahead and call the hatchery too. They might have some pull or suggestions on what to do.
As someone involved in shipping things (non-living objects) I don't think there's much the shipper can do once it leaves their hands. You can pay to have a package rerouted sometimes, but that's about it, and that's IF they can catch the package - no guarantee.
Due to COVID-19 they no longer guarantee shipping times, not even the shipping cost for the Express mail if it's late.

Good to know. THanks!

Keep us updated! In case you were wondering, mine all arrived healthy and alive, no pasty butt (yet)! (Not ducks, but chicks!)
