The bearding gene inhibits wattle size but not color. Both them and the comb still appear vary pale.. so I also currently think pullet is a strong possibility based on stated age.. but hesitate to say 100% since late bloomers happen sometimes.

Oh cool! I didn't know that fact about the bearded gene, my last roo had small wattles and I always wondered why compared to most roos
