Baby chick broken leg

I was able to get his leg in this but he is just dragging it around behind him he isn’t walking on his other foot just using it to drag him around as he is only two days old and since he had the broken leg he didn’t learn how to walk

Unless his leg is is immobilized both above AND below the break, meaning all the way to and maybe including the hip, I don’t think any amount of splinting is going to heal this.
The complicating factors are: that its a compound fracture that’s jagged and
There seems to be no “life” in the extremity below the knee other than circulation.

It’s not easy for me to say because I always lean towards optimism, but I am having trouble finding optimism about the potential for quality of life for this little one.

Could it survive with a lifeless leg?
Probably.

Could it survive as a one-legged chicken?
Yes.

Would it have a meaningful and happy chicken life, outdoors with a flock?
Ultimately I don’t think so.

Those are my opinions that I’m offering because you asked for them.

I’m still happy to and willing to help, support and guide you in whatever path you choose though, because that’s what I’m here to do. Help and support. Not judge.

I don't really have much to offer, other than what has been stated, and more moral support for whatever decision is chosen.

I would probably give it a couple more days, just because of some of the miraculous healing that we have seen happen here. And at some point, I think it will be obvious IF the chick is better off being put down. I just kinda let the chick speak to me, and trust my heart on those decisions.

So like what do I do ? I’m confused by the messages do I leave it for a few days ? It doesn’t know what food or water is yet and it won’t be able to get to it unless he pulls himself towards it but he spends most of the time with his eyes closed he doesn’t even know how to use the one leg he has

You are going to have to do what ever you think is best.
