Said baby chick has passed on on her own a few minutes ago. She seemed to be peaceful in her last minutes. We will be burring them all tonight. Thank you for all your help and recommendations. ❤️
I'm so sorry :hugs

Up to what age would this method work, easily?
I don't really know since I don't use scissors or clippers like @Redhead Rae does, I use a knife instead, so....for me probably 3-4 weeks. For me, again, it would depend on "size" I suppose. After about 1mo, I would probably switch to cervical dislocation, but she may give you a better idea.

*editing to add, I'm leaving my original post as is, but - I just noticed at the bottom of her article that she mentions best used on chicks younger than 3wks.

Because you know it was a cat, I recommend antibiotics. Poultry is particularly susceptible to the germs that cats have on their claws and in their mouth. You've heard of cat scratch fever? It's really a thing. Both tooth and nail on cats is razor sharp and needle thin, burying their germs deeply into the wounds of their prey. It would be difficult to locate punctures from a cat until the infection starts to set in and by then, it's usually too little, too late for poultry.
