baby chick needs help (new pics)

You may not have anything to worry about.

My chicks are like that for like 24 hours after they hatch. its pretty much normal. And that is probably why her toes appear to be curled, because if they aint standing on their feet then their toes sorta curl up like that.

give her a little while before treating for curled toes.

i was kinda holding out on treating the toes until this yolk thing straightens up. one emergency at a time for me. i did end up putting shoes on the one that hatched yesterday because its toes didn't straighten out. it hates them

it keeps shaking its feet trying to get them off.

haha I know! I treated one of my chicks for spraddle leg not to long ago and he was trying to eat the band-aids.

well your doing good. atleast your willing to help the chick and treat her. some people arent.

I also meant to add that the reason why their toes curl up when they aren't standing on them is because the muscles are relaxed. This is what helps them sleep on a roost.

anyone know how long it might take till the yolk dries up and falls off?

well the little chick had a bad night. when i went to bed she seemed to be doing ok, but some time during the night she must have caught her claw on the sac and tore it a bit because when i came down to check on her there was blood all over. so i tied off what was hanging out and cut it off to try and stop not only the bleeding ( it was fresh blood hadn't dried and was still oozing) but her from pulling more out. it looked as if she had also pulled some more of the yolk sac out. i put some septic powder on it to help dry it up and stop any further oozing, gave her some water and placed her back in the little container in the brooder with the only other chick that hatched this time. they are separated but can still see each other. i just don't know what else i can do for her and i'm afraid she wont make it

this one of course is my dd favorite, she named her even before the chick had hatched. so i'm trying all i can to get her to survive.

I'm not sure what to do about the yolk. is she eating / drinking?
eating and drinking is always a great sign

she's not really drinking unless i give it to her and she hasn't tried to eat at all yet. i'm not too hopeful but fingers crossed.
