Hello, I have a 3-4 week old chick. I just cleaned their brooder and once back in she started gasping for air. The brooder has dirt floor and pine shavings on top. This is when she has had. She was fine and happy running around with all the others. Now gasping! Separated and started with some sugar water. Anyone have any other suggestions for my sweet chick!

How is she doing now?

If she is in respiratory distress, I would be hesitant to try to get water into her for fear of her choking.
Is it possible that when she was picked up to be put back in the crop and/or the body was squeezed a bit too tightly?
