Baby chick with a stiff knee and three toes on left leg

Turns out she doesn't have a slipped Achilles' tendon, her joint appears to be calcified (it's almost solid). Maybe we'll get the vet to amputate her leg when she's older (if they'll do it). It doesn't appear to be causing her any pain, she just gets frustrated with it from not being able to put it down and getting the the road of things.

In post 4, there was a link about a chick who had a leg amputated by a vet, and later was fitted with a peg. I'm sorry her hock has seemed to fuse, but happy that she is still getting around. Let us know how she is getting along later.

So the chick unfortunately has to be put down :( she was eating and drinking and moving about until her right toe on her right leg became bent upwards as she grew (she was receiving the correct nutrition so I think this issue is genetic). She couldn't get around well and wouldn't eat unless the food was right in front of her and she was held up. She also refused to drink. She continued to appear healthy although her quality of life was dramatically reduced. R.I.P. little chick
