Baby chick with poultry lice

They are in a brooder at ~80 F this week. Do you mention that because of keeping them warm after spraying? Or something else?
It's because any amount of moisture on a chick can chill it. If you do decide to se spray, watch for signs of chilling and be prepared to raise the temp of their brooder.

I use Food Grade Diamatious Earth. I sprinkle it where the chicks ,and chickens do there feather dusting. Google it to see all the benefits. I even take a couple of teaspoon full myself every day. Some people take tablespoons full. The seller stated that the more you take won't necessarily do any better for you. I use it in my garden, on leaves for bugs. Cockroaches won't step in it if wits in a pile, so I blow the pile with a leaf blower where ever I think they are. Put it on an ant pile, and they won't come up where ever it is present. I put a teaspoon full in my pet food, 1/4-cup in my adult chicken 40-pound hanging feeder tray. I even take a couple of full teaspoon twice a day with juice mixed in. The directions from seller is to take it two hours before or after meals. Gives more energy, plus so many other benefits. Google about "FGDE"?

*Update*

They seem to be better. Tomorrow I should be able to treat again. I bought some of the Gordon's from TSC I think I'm going to treat the bedding with the spray and just powers them again tomorrow. I treated them last Sunday and after a few days when I checked I didn't think it was working. I checked again last night and the night before and don't see as many. I'm just worried about spraying chicks :( so I've decided if I find any next week (after 2 powder treatments) then I will spray them lightly, I'm considering applying with a Qtip instead of spraying.

Powdering everyone individually is what's hard, and unhealthy. That's why spray, at night, on the roosts, without disturbing the birds, is so much easier, and less stressful for all concerned. Mary
