Thanks @April Barta We had never heard of the Flowery 55, but I heard big white eggs and auto sexing chicks and I was sold. Really wish I had the money for 2 Flowery 55's, but sadly I did not. BUT - now we do not have ANY laying hens again.

I'm going to try to get Tootie to mother these new babies?

Still no eggs from these ungrateful freeloaders. I thought I should update their pictures. We were just mentioning that we had not weighed the girls in a long time LOL. One of these days I will, but since they moved out to the Hen House, they seem to like me less and less.

Little Bit had already gone in for the night, but her picture is on this thread a lot. I will update with a newer photo of her when I get one. Here is Gracey and Buffey at 21 weeks. EDIT... Adding pic of LittleBIt at 21 Weeks.


All three at 18 weeks.


I sure hope that my Little Boy Blue will grow up to be fill my Blue Man expectations of him!

Will do - still searching daily for some pretty BLUE eggs! Broody Tootie has started laying again!! Yeah! since she is our ONLY layer right now.

We got our first blue egg!!! Well, I choose to call it blue despite it's pale green hue! Unfortunately, I am not certain if it was LittleBit or Gracey, but my guess is Gracey.

Definitely not babies anymore!

I was right! It is Gracey, she left us another egg this morning. Here is a pic next to the Green wooden egg that she laid her egg next to today Yesterday, it was in the floor of the hen house.

5 Month Update

Gracey continues to give us a blue egg every day (7 days in a row so far). She only missed the nest box that first time. She has always been the most laid back of the three. Since we have no rooster at the moment (for about a month now), she will squat and allow me to pet her - most of the time.

Buffey, she will squat and allow me to pet her almost all of the time. She follows me around any time I am in their area. Still waiting for our egg.

LittleBit remains the most spirited of the three. She will not squat to be petted often - one in a while - but not often. She is the only one of the three that will come up and peck me if she wants something - or if she is just being ornery ! Still waiting for our blue egg.

Tootie - our oldest, has finished being Broody and returned to being a laying hen. She now gets along with, and hangs out with these three young ladies all day. She still pecks at them at night in the coop, but I am working on it. I gave her her own perch in the coop yesterday. Tonight, I did not have to remove her from the coop.

So - now that we have our new flock almost getting along - the new group of babies (4 of them) are in the process of being integrated! New babies are only 5 weeks and the only one that has no problem with them is Gracey. Hopefully, when they are older...

All of these girls have started laying. Gracey at 22 Weeks - Buffey & LittleBit at 23 Weeks

I just realized that I don't have a good picture of Buffey - I will try to get one tonight and update this post. These babies are now young ladies and seem to be enjoying there life.I sure hope they like their boyfriend! He will catch up to them soon enough. I will post a picture of BlueMan - our Crested Cream Legbar Cockerel at the bottom.
