Thanks! Yeah I'll prob try the plate and leave the garage light on, it's not super bright but they should be able to see to get around.I'd use a heat lamp for the first week at least, it's really up to you.
If you don't use a heat lamp, I'd definitely make sure to leave the lights on so they can see were to go.
I received 2 Buttercups yesterday. Watching them and really hoping they do well. They r already gorgeous!Only waiting on Buttercups, paid and confirmed for April from McMurray "if they hatch". Otherwise will repeatedly stalk the 3 TSCs to pick up the chicks "no one wants" for a dollar![]()
Lows 2nite by us are in the 60s. I'm going to keep our Brinsea plate for nite 2 (worked fine last year). I chick did die today, but shipping was a bit slow. Just leaving normal light on.Thanks! Yeah I'll prob try the plate and leave the garage light on, it's not super bright but they should be able to see to get around. This year I have been hoarding large boxes and made my own little cardboard pen that can be expanded as they grow. I will be pretty much living in the garage the first couple days and keeping a super close eye on them. It will be very warm already in April here so I'm not really worried about them getting overly cold, just need to make sure the temp is right to get them through-I will test the plate temp when I get it this week, I have like 2 months to decide
