They can be in the coop once they are fully feathered. Mine were off the heat at about 4 weeks old and fully feathered around 5 weeks. Expect building the coop and run to take longer than you think. Lol. That is one thing someone told me and I didn't believe it since there were 2 of us working on it, my husband is good with that stuff etc.... Ummm yup it took longer.1. Your expected ship/arrival week: April 27th 2022
2. How many weeks are left: 4
3. Where you ordered from: Hoover's Hatchery via a local feed store
4. What was in your order: Starting off with 5! 3 Easter Eggers and 2 Sapphire Gems!
Jumping in feet first. I have most of the brooder equipment and will be setting it all up in the next couple weeks. I have a rough idea for a coupe and run, and will be constructing it over the next 6-8 weeks. If an educated grower were to guess when my chicks would be ready to go outside, I'd like some predictions! I need to find that little spreadsheet I've seen floating around on the net with age/ temp timelines for going outside.
Do they go right from the brooder to the coop?
Thank you all for helping a green horn! I've wanted to do this for years, and I finally have just had enough of thinking about it. Time to get after it, I'm very excited.
