baby duck with lots of problems

OH MY HEART IS JUST MELTING!! LOOK AT THAT FACE!! Poor duckling...what a way to get started in life. Ouch!!

You know he didn't seem the least traumatized by his experience. He was one tuff little duckling. We had so much enjoyment out of having him inside.

Other than chicks he was my first duckling, any others mamas hatched and cared for. matter of fact this mama Emmie went broody first the next year but I was ready for her iIwas going to take any ducklings that hatched, she hatched 4 and was an awesome mama why on her first go around she attacked is beyond me.

Only other time I have had a duckling inside was a couple years ago when my duck Hope brought her babies out for the first time a blk snake got one and was squeezing the life out of it when I walked up on them I unwrapped that snake and I was so scared he had internal injuries i kept it in for the day and over night. I tell you it was a miracle to find it when i did and get that snake off of it, next day i gave him back to his mama he was fine other than he had a wound on his leg from where the snake drug him through the fence or grabbed him with his mouth I just kept spraying it with Veterycin. It healed fine. My dh named him snake bite though but actually his nae was Henry .

Whoa!! Holy cwap on a quacker!! Just reading that kinda give me the heeby jeebies! Snakes positively freak me out!! You seem to have a knack for being at the right place at the right time. Good job!!

He was in close to 3 hrs this morning and he got rambunctious and started biting my legs so out her went. He doesn't do this often any more but once in a while he thinks he can treat me like one of his girls, I won't put up with it.

Sat he was in for close to 2 hrs while we watched a movie, He didn't care for it. mostly slept. lol

Muscovy's are kinda like dogs they wag their tails and can make great pets. Thankfully they don't bark I hear that enough out of the 5 dogs we have.

I would love to have a Muscovy. Even if they bite. lol

Oh that is very brave of you to save Henry. I would have screamed so loud hubby would have come running and got the snake. I couldn't have touched it even to save a duck.

I'm glad Emmie was a good mom the second time around. She learned her lesson well then. I guess Rhonda Runner is only going to have the one baby. I can't give away a only duck so that means if she doesn't hatch another one we have a new addition.

TO FUNNY. LOL Que Sera is in her cage I'm sure she would love to be a star on a soap opera. The soaps are still going as far as I know. I used to watch them all the time then I got out of it.
