baby duck with lots of problems

It looks I'm going to be spending alot of time with the ducks and chickens this weekend. Our air conditioner bit the dust. I kept noticing yesterday it was getting hotter and hotter in the kitchen. Then when I was fixing supper the temps where climbing to the unbearable range. We finally gave up on the air and openned all the windows. This morning I saw a wild rabbit in the yard next door and a squirrel walking the chain link fence. You miss so much when the windows are all closed up. I'm sitting here talking to the ducks in the back yard because my window is open. They love it. I'm trying to look on the positive side of this but it is hard to do.

Sissy and Ozzie the dogs will probably move to a new home. lol They sleep over the air vents and with that not working they are going to be highly upset. At least it's going to be in the low 80s today but tomorrow its going to be almost 90. Oh boy.

The air conditioner is probably under water in the yard. No wonder it broke. I can't call the air conditioner repair until Monday because they charge an extra 100.00 to come out on the weekends. Go figure.

We have sunshine today yeahhhh. I hope I can find some shade outside when I sit out.

Have a great day all.

Patty, I feel for you. I dread the day ours goes on the fritz. When I was a kid and we had no AC (not because we could not afford it..though we could not...but it had not been invented yet
clap.gif
)... we put a dish pan of ice on a towel on the floor in front of a fan. Kept the windows open but the curtains closed. It lowered the inside temps by about 10 degrees.

Thanks for the tips I will use them that's for sure. We didn't have air conditioners either when I was a kid. It didn't seem a problem back then. I remember laying a towel in front of the fan and eatting popcycles. Those were the days. I spent most of my days as a kid outside playing so the heat didn't bother me when I come inside.

Thanks again..

She's Miss Wonky because she was wobbly Lol so its all good. Her name was just Wonky Duck originally until she started quacking then I added miss to make it more girl like. I have Coturnix quail that's what the ones in the picture were.
I know leave it to me to the get the name wrong. Tell Miss Wonky it won't happen again. That is a cute name. Hubbie named Turbo because his little feet would go so fast when he flipped on his back.

I have to say we haven't had air since we moved to the mountains 20 yrs ago from Fl. but this month has been making me think that may change, I really don't like air and having my windows closed it's bad enough they have to be closed all winter. But we have had heat up to 90 end of June and now this week. hard to deal with. Nice breeze blowing today and kind of cloudy so maybe it won't get as hot as they predicted. Normal mid summer temps for here is avg 84*

Hope you can find a nice shady spot to visit and spend time with your flock Patty.

Hopefully your temps will come down to the normal range. This has been a very unusual summer for us to. I haven't seen the rainfall amounts for this month but I'm sure we are above the average by a couple of feet. I'm sitting with a fan behind me and it's not so bad right now. I will join the flock when it becomes unbearable. I think my spell checker is broke I haven't misspelled a word in a couple of days.

I was going to let Rhonda runner and Uno out of the pen today but we have rain predicted for tomorrow and Monday. Go figure. I may dig them up a clump of grass to put in their pen.

I couldn't live with out ceiling fans and reg ones too.
More rain?? oh my goodness. You may need a boat soon and a life raft for the flock.

We have 5 fans going now. We only have the ceiling fan in the kitchen and it's on high right now. You know I am seriously thinking about deleting my weather forecaster on this puter. That's the first thing I see when my puter boots up. 50% chance of rain tomorrow and Monday. I haven't taken my prozac since I retired from Krogers in March. I had to take two this morning when I thought surely the air would come on after an overnight rest. It didn't. I asked Robbie to show me how to put pics in a post that weren't recent. He told me I have showed you how to do it before. I busted out crying.

I'm going outside now to catch Que Sera and hold her. I know I will be feel better after that.

Hang in there, Things will change soon. Right now they are all they can be but change is inevitable. Hopefully they will be better.

I hear ya, Patty! I've been wanting a pool since I was a kid. Finally have one, unassembled sitting on the lawn by the mud pit crater. Saw the news this morning and wanted to throw something at the television! Every single day through Thursday or Friday has rain on it. We do still have AC, though. I can't live with open windows. Love the fresh air buy my allergies are insufferable when I let fresh air indoors.

As soon as my headache lets up, I'll send you a PM with detailed instructions for how to put pics in a post. I'm told I'm pretty good at typing out things so people understand.

Hope you get some good quality time with Que Sera soon.
