Opie this morning. lol if you look at his knob for lack of a better word you can see where he has had frost bite 2 yrs now. I need to make him a cover for his knob before winter.

I usually go to her house she cuts my hair.That's how I knew she had chickens and when I told her about my lil roos she got one for her 2 hens[chicken math hasn't gotten hold of her yet.] lol

I hope she comes back to see Opie. No chicken math hasn't gotten a hold her yet. When she come to pick up the roo she would have gotten another 5 chickens to go with the one she wanted.

They are sweet boys aren't they. My roo is the same way, youngest hasn't learned yet he is still all about himself. lol I found that is the best way to give it once the bread is smooched around the pill they have no idea there is a pill in there.

we have to be sneaky at times.

Yes the drakes can be sweet. Bubba shares all of his food with the hens. He even shares imaginary food with the girls.

Clyde would not take the pills if he knew they were hidden in the bread. For their own good we have to be sneaky but don't tell him.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with a mean drake that tries to forcefully mate the hens?? Dave is being super mean to Sally lately and trying to do that and I don't want to have to get rid of her, charlie, and henry but if I can't figure something out for them I will have too. Dave is nice and sweet, never doing anything like that to Lady, his mate, but as soon as the other three are around he turns into a mean duck. Sally doesn't want to be part of his flock and sleeps with Henry and Charlie and generally ignores Dave, until I let them out in the morning he attacks her! I just don't know what to do about it, Cause Sally also loves Lady so much that as soon as I put Dave and Lady on one side of the fence and leave the other three she freaks out.

I don't know what to do in this situation. Maybe put the 3 boys in the same pen and put the girls togeather in another one. Dave is proving to the boys that he is the leader that's why he is going after Sally. I hope you can work out something so they can all get along togeather.

If I put Dave alone with the boys he'd be mean I think..i let Dave out into the yard and lady flew out after a while to be with him. If Sally can't see her she honks super loud, otherwise she's ok. Dunno what to do when the chickens come out, they don't like the ducks..just wish they'd all get along!

aww another perfect pose from the way to handsome Opie. Is the knob the round thing on the start of his bill? You'll have to show us his pic when he wears it. Are you going to make a mask out of cloth to cover this? This is going to be to cute.

Oh my goodness it sounds like you need a referee to keep everyone from fighting. I've got a fence going down the middle of my backyard when I need to keep one group away from the others.Right now everyone is getting along thank goodness I just keep the gate open so they can go back and forth.

Oh...I might be jealous of the lady that got to give/get some Opie lovins! My girl, Alfalfa, wagged her tail at me when I sang to her a few weeks ago. Of course, she hasn't done it since. Maybe I need to switch songs. LOL

As long as the boys can see the girls there won't be peace. if you put all the drakes together.
