baby duck with lots of problems

I got the dried whole corn kernels and the chickens loved it.  They all were walking around looking like Dolly Pardon but the ducks aren't to crazy about it.  I think they will eat it once Topper starts liking it.  I also got them them the lamb and rice dog food.  I'll see what the food bowls look like in the morning but I'm sure the ducks will eat it.  I want to put some extra weight on them before winter gets here.

We have a new addition in the pet family.  Robbie found a turtle walking down the street.  Someone had put glitter on his shell.  He's pretty friendly and right now he's living in a laundry basket.  I had no idea they needed a uvb light since he doesn't get sunlight in the house.  This spring he can go outside to live.  He really perked up with the uvb light and I also got him a heat bulb.  I brought Goldie in the house this morning and she tried to jump in the basket with the turtle.  I had to hold her so she would leave the turtle alone.

Awe, so sweet you adopted the little turtle. Thank goodness for him!!

Is Goldie spending the night indoors? Is she ok?

So if Topper likes a food then the others know it's ok to eat?

I am feeding our ducks and chickens lots of extra corn and dog food too, and our ducks love it.they are starting to get bored with the corn tho, Miss Wonky is back in the shed with the bantams and our big duckling "Just Ducky" she's gotten wobbly again, she was getting stuck in the pool, And I was worried about her.

This is Just Ducky and her bantam buddies.

Are you feeding them anything other than corn and dog food? Flock raiser might be good for both chickens and ducks. I feed Mazuri Waterfowl and Game Bird Chow adding corn is ok in winter, but some breeders/hatcheries never feed corn. Mine are getting some corn now w the colder weather. Also duclikngs will benefit from adding niacin to their water and some Brewers yeast to their feed. What breed of duck is she??

Oh the dog food and corn is just treats/ supplement for the cooler weather ahead , Purina Flock raiser is their main food we don't have specialty water fowl feed near here( they also enjoy fresh greens, fruits, and live minnows and goldfish . her mom is a Pekin/Rouen mix her dad is either f&w runner or blue swedish.

well the chicks seemed to do well in the coop last night. We had them in a kennel so they could see the big girls and they could see them an we're doing the same tonight. Trying to get them all used to each other ya know?
That's sweet of Robbie to adopt that turtle, it seems like a domestic turtle if it's so friendly? That would be my thought anyways, if thats the case it's sad someone would just let it go. Glad robbie found it and nothing bad happened to the poor thing.

Mazuri is a Purina product so your local feed store can get it for you It is more expensive about $40 for a 50lb bag. I feed it straight to my little guys (cinnamon teal, Laysan teal, wood ducks and call ducks) and mix it w corn and Game chow for my runners, Cayugas and Anconas. Funny though, the Mazuri is shaped and smells just like the cat food I buy!!! Lol

She is still in the brooder pen in the chicken coop she freaks out if I take her away from her peeps.
I would add some brewers yeast[not baking yeast] to her feed 1Tb to 1 cup usually once they start on it it only takes a few days to a week to get their legs under them again. they need it till 10 weeks old. won't hurt the chicks to eat it either.

A turtle wow how cool Patty does it like lettuce? If I see them crossing the road I stop and help them over so they don't get smooched. I usually only see them on our little road but the cars go down the mt. so fast.
