Yes, you do need her weight to give her an antibiotic... but if I remember correctly, Tylan is really hard on birds when injected, I believe you can give it to her orally... you'll have to draw it out with a needle, but then can give it orally... @casportpony will know for sure about Tylan and dosage, just need her weight...

My husband seems to have misplaced his little scale and she is so frenzied I am doubting we can get an accurate readout. I am scouring the storage room but need to get these meds into her. I only have a 6 ml syringe and my husband is saying just give her 1/5 of the 1 ml. I don't like guessing with medications, I am a stickler with the children...I know that full grown she would be 3-5 lbs but she is very tiny for her age. The average weight for an almost 3 week old khaki campbell I am trying to find out then cut in half. She is half the size of her siblings.

When I weigh a squimer I place them in a box or a clear plastic container. Can you go to Walmart or Target and a food scale?

We have one vehicle right now and my husband works two jobs today so we are homebound until tomorrow. We knew it would be a stay-at-home summer for me and the kids so we invested in our animals and gardens lol I could get one tomorrow as we have dentist appointments is there anyway I could give her a small dosage until then to get her started? She is one who won't eat from my hand and is so crazy when I pick her up I guess I will have to use a children's motrin syringe (no needle) and add the antibiotic to a drop of water and hold her on her back and get most of it down her ;( The boys and I are going to head for the basement and search for the scale when the baby goes down for his nap. If I find it I will put her in a container like you suggested THANK YOU I couldn't figure out how to get her to hold still haha

Can you take a picture of her next to something like a can of soda or a milk container? Then I could guess her weigh.

Okay, that helps... So if you had to guess, would you say that the ducking weighs as much as the can, half the can, or something else?
