Baby pigeon tongue

I just posted another question on Eggbert, this little one sure keeps us on our toes.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/feathers-not-coming-in.1302696/
Crop milk produced by parent pigeons gives the young a massive nutritional boost. You have done very well to keep him going but the lack of crop milk puts him quite far behind in his development. Feather growing requires a lot of nutrition and I find my squeakers slow or stop weight gain temporarily when feathering out. He looks underweight to me but that is not surprising given the circumstances and it doesn't mean he won't make it. I do suspect that is why no feathers yet. @LauraMunro raised one from an egg so she has a better grasp of what to expect in terms of growth in a special case like this..

What are you feeding him now?

I'm answering here because the info in your first post is needed context for the new question.:)

I feed him exact bird formula.
At the moment 2-3 times a day as he doesn’t fully empty his crop.
I’m giving him a drop of acv to help with that.
He looks underweight to me too.
I’m trying the hardest I can. We’ve grown rather attached to the little thing.
Given he was only 9 grams at “birth”, I’m honestly surprised he’s still alive.

I noticed this morning that the wings are getting darker
Looks like he’s going to get his feathers in :D

Yes, and enlarging I think I see very tiny pins starting. So much for my idea he would need to gain more weight! Just keep feeding as much as he can process, although 2 - 3 feeds a day is all you're likely to fit in. Maybe increase the egg yolk a bit? How is his poop production?
