Finally conformation that all 9 hens/Pullets are laying… The tan egg left top corner should be the Black Swedish Hen, the tan egg next to it and the tan egg bellow egg have speckles and come from the two Phoenix hens. The two green eggs come from the two Crested Cream Legbar x Welsummer Pullets these two girls have been laying machines (I have several dozen green eggs). The pinkish egg is from a Naked Neck, the tan egg next to it from a D’Uccle. The Darkest egg from a Blue French Maran and the slighter less dark from a Naked Neck. I am going to have to start cooking eggs daily.

This week has been hard on me, the pneumonia is gone but my lungs are still healing and all the muscles of my torso including those that wrap around the rib cage and back are healing, meaning I am in extreme pain at work and breathing issues are still a thing (my coworkers can all tell I am still on the mend), so only so much I can do when I get home as I need to let the muscles rest. I am pretty fatigued my work day is long. Anyhow the chickens and chicks are a priority regardless. The babies are healthy, happy and growing fast.

The chicks are all a week old, except for Peepers who is 3 weeks old today. When I weighed them all last week they were all .20 except for Pepper and Maran #2 who weighed .15. Look how much they have grown in one week!

Belt Hatchery Ameraucana chicks, they do distinguish between Easter Eggers and Ameraucana on their website. We shall see how these chicks mature. They are 4 days old and have integrated well with the other older chicks. The kids helped pick them out.

We started relaying the brick in the main run area this weekend… in preparation for other upgrades.

The goal is to loose brick the area in completely and replace outer extra fencing and screen. Then new housing. New feeders and watering set up.

Been reading this book from the Library, decided I liked it enough to buy it.

It has lots of cool recipes, not just Matzo and one thing that is always in my house is Matzo. Right now we are nit eating meat, but I can modify recipes easily enough. I think I am going to fiddle with this recipe first…
