Happy Monday
May all your chickens lay eggs today. :D

It’s weigh in day and change the bands for new ones, they are coloured zip ties so it is important to monitor them and make sure they do not get too tight as the chicks grow. I check the bands daily.

They are all steadily growing.

Note on the French Maran’s we are presently uncertain on which colour variety they are… blue something… could be solid blue, cuckoo, or blue copper.

Maran #1

Very healthy active bird… still waiting for a name.

Maran #2 same weight as #1

Also full of vinegar and she seems a bit bigger boned to me.

I’ve been living dangerously for years, gardening and keeping chickens. However I checked this book out of the Library, Gardening with Chickens… first thing it says is chickens can’t fly! Nonsense mine can! Some of my birds could easily fly the length of a football field! It depends on breed folks. I clip wings now to squash the long distance flights, but they all can hop up and over fences… anyway just started it. I am sure there will be some good ideas to try.

What does Japanese Monster Fighting TV show and chickens have in common? Be patient, watch it, remember big reveal and find out who the evil leader is! 😂
