Hi! BYC said update at 8 weeks and here we are. I’m hoping these are all girls because I’d alike to keep them all but I’m suspicious of one and unsure of another. But I’m not very good at this so there could be more. 🤔
I don’t know most of their breeds but was told there is an oe and an ee and one who will lay tan eggs when they mature. I couldn’t tell you which is which.

#1 Priscilla or Percy This is the one I’m suspicious of. Small comb but it’s fairly pink.

#2 Maddie. I’m unsure. Comb popped up pretty early but the comb is still yellow

#3 Pearl. I think pullet.

#4 Chicken Nugget. Pretty sure she’s pullet. Someone on BYC told me she’s an RIR. She’s very sweet and friendly.

#5 Luna. I posted her last week and most people on here said they were going with pullet so not I’m going with that too.🙂

Percy is a cockerel for sure. I would need to see a shot of Luna's head and comb to know that one, but the others look like pullets.

Is it the comb or some other features that lets us know? I’m still learning and I’m terrible at guessing. Lol.

Thank you!

With Percy it is the comb development and the dark, shiny male specific saddle feathers coming in. With the others, it's the lack of comb development and male specific traits.

Percy for sure, that's a broad bodied little cockerel
Also the legs are thick like tree trunks.
Do you know what breed Percy is supposed to be? Percy looks like a juvenile Buckeye with that peacomb, yellow legs and broad body.

Buckeyes were bred for eggs and meat production, with the peacomb to prevent frostbite. They're reported to be friendly and easy to handle but I've not had personal experience with them. Definitely one of the breeds on my radar for future chickens though!
