Backside featherless and very red.

Sometimes it's mites causing that baldness behind, there are threads on how to spot and treat mites.
Sometimes molting, which happens at this time of year, begins at the back end. They usually stop laying. I had a hen with a bare area all around her behind and it was kind of red. I examined her for mites, I didn't see any. Then saw the pin feathers coming in and thought ah, maybe just molting. Now it's all grown completely back. She had stopped laying for a month and now is laying again and has a new fluffy butt.
Thank you again Sue she passed her egg and looks great you guys are awesome I learned a whole bunch thanks again.

Well done to you and her! I know it can be a bit daunting bathing a chicken and doing an internal exam for the first time and not overly pleasant when they poop everywhere like that. You should be proud of yourself.
I would continue to give her a half a Tums for a few days just to boost her calcium intake. It not only helps to keep shells strong but also helps the muscles to contract to push eggs out. There is normally enough in their feed but at this time of year as they approach moult, they can become a bit depleted and need a little extra, especially when they have had an incident like this. Do you supply your flock with crushed oyster shell or crushed dried egg shells in a separate little dish so that they can help themselves when they need it? If not, it is a good idea to do so.
