Backyard Brahmas!!

Buff.

I was gonna say egg laying is a pretty strong indication, but after the way the citrus Gomer thing went over, thinking I better pass..

No I can't make a call on your bird from that photo. In fact I hadn't even seen it when I posted. Just some general smartassedryness.

I would like to see a sharper photo, possibly some from the side with the bird standing in a relaxed pose. With some close up shots of the back right in front of the tail.

can I ask for your opinions on these birds? I keep thinking I have them figured out and then I'm not sure. I'd like to get rid of some of the roosters, but I'm not sure which rooster to keep. :-( And whats' with the one with a single comb?! These are two months old, stock from a Hatchery. I am FAIRLY certain that 6 and 7 are pullets, but I am not sure about 4, or 5. I THINK I have all of them numbered correctly in the last picture... but I'm not positive. Sorry, there are several that look the same to me.

Thanks in advance!!

I don't think you told us how old they are? Anyway, 2, 3 & 5 look to me like they MIGHT be cockerels, but I wouldn't bet money on it. I'm only basing it on the redness of their combs, which doesn't mean that they are cockerels for sure, they may just be pullets with redder combs. If we knew how old they are it would help a little. I know it is difficult, but if we could have back pictures of the birds in question it would probably help us to tell a little better.

I'd just wait and see. I don't raise buffs, so I'm not the buff expert by any means and from what I understand they are notoriously hard to sex. You might have to wait a bit to be able to tell for sure.
