Backyard Brahmas!!

Those are some gorgeous chickens.

No that was directed to Bumpercarr, who described her birds as showed some Cochin traits. Was curious if the hocks were still an issue, as is usual with Cochin outcrosses.

I agree on the silver laced pattern, took me about 25 years to get mine to this point.

Again, you've got some beauties! I love how the legs are patterned. I think they may be the first ones that I've seen with really nice color/pattern on their feet as well.

@The Colonel
 How are your little ones doing?

Last few days have been a little hectic lol sorry about the belated update. We were able to hatch two more babies successfully out of the oldest clutch. The mama came off early, heat lamp, whole nine. On the second clutch of five, they are on day 20 and were candled this evening to show progress, movement, etc. Nothing was observed but they still look intact and normal. So they will have a couple more days of heat lamp basket time to see what happens from here. The six successful little ones were put in the brooder yesterday because the mama wasn't gonna to take the youngest two, so I took the four from her that we're hatched before she came off and are raising them together.

About three months ago I bought my first trio of light Brahmas along with three khaki Campbell ducklings at TSC. I love them!! They are now my favorite breed of chicken.

Some clearer pics of my color (and maybe gender)-confused kiddo:

There are saddle feathers for sure so I feel sure cockerel.

Comparison with my definite pullet/cockerel.. This one is middle of the road, face-wise (see sassy pants keeping his distance back there?? He had just bitten the fire out of my hand when I petted him; needless to say he didn't come near me again lol)
