Bad Day Today.

please folks no PETA posting, the sure way to get a thread shut down.
Living out here in NE i know there amish puppymills and puppy auctions where some stores get their animals from. The biggest mill are down in Missouri(the biggest seller) Petland gets their animals from there.
You just dont get a good puppy from a store because a responsible breeder doesnt sell to stores. store puppies/kittens are horrible overpriced for the "quality" they have. AKC / CKC doesnt guarantee a good puppy either. Example :
Chihuahuas dont have a merle gene. Yet all sudden a few years ago they showed up with AKC papers, on the big side or too big by standard. What happened? Some breeder breed a Chi to a other breed that has the merle gene and bred this offspring together or to a other Chi to get Chis with this gene. So there is some cheating going on.
try to find a 3 pound applehead with merle , its impossible.

the reason there is so many dogs in shelters is because of bad owners, not bad breeders,no breeder I know ever wants to see their pups in shelters,
this statement is so wrong. If the breeder wouldnt have bred the dog in the first place there would be fewer puppies which leads to fewer dogs avialbe , which leads to fewer dogs in the opund.

a lot of puppy mills or backyard breeder dont care whats with the dog in a few years, they are just here for the $$$$

Hang in there, God doesn't bring you to it without guideing you through it.
Please take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Hugs, Kellie

Trixie is still not eating on her own. she is still drinking and keeping down the supplemental .. when i have further news on trixie is will let you know.

since some are determined to get off subject...i did not intend for this to become a debate on puppy mills ect.. would a moderator please lock this thread.

thanks to those who have been and really are intrested in Trixie.

Hang in there..as long as shes drinking thats a good thing! Whats the suppliment? Something nutritional? Have you tried tempting her with things like low sodium chick stock? Sometimes they just stop being hungry and as soon as you can convince them to eat something..anything..then the hungry urge kicks in again.

I almost lost a border collie cross to parvo. Had him 2 weeks and he got sick on the day he was supposed to go in for his vaccinations. Bought him from a kid at auction for $10. Should have known better.

5 years later i brought home 2 pyranese x pups from a friend. 5 days later i was at the vets with him..yep..parvo. Her other pups never got sick and we live in an area were there were no dogs so we can only guess that they picked it up at one of the potty stops.

Parvos a rough ride and expensive to treat but all three of our dogs made it. Shes made it this far..odds are good that she'll make it. Shes in our prayers!

I am interested in Trixie, and I hope that she recovers. She should have never been bred in the first place. A dog should never be bred if it doesnt have the proper vaccinations. Was this a "mistake" litter, or was she bred on purpose? And a 5 month old dog, is way to young to be bred.

Before you start flaming and cause a perfectly good thread to be locked, please take the time to read the post entirely instead of jumping the gun and flaming a member in good standing here.

If any of you whose fingers ran off to the keyboard before the eyes read the post would like to PM guinealady privately and apologize for jumping down her throat, I am sure she would appreciate it.
