Bad exp with an egg buyer. UPDATE READ PAGE 5! HOLY

What a predicament!
Although rare I have come across enough postings of where the PO has ... well lied...to cover their mistakes and if this is the case here, then what a predicament for that lady too!
I would give her the benefit of the doubt and refrain from letting hurt feelings color your response to her and simply point out the notice from the PO yet at the same time offer her condolences that this has happened but be sure to point out that YOUR end of the bargain was completed as agreed therefore there is no blame to be put on you and therefore a refund is out of the question.

I would not have expected that from USPS, but we did have a similar problem with UPS. When I checked the tracking it simply said "gate". When I called them up, they informed me it was left at our gate. I informed them that we did not have a gate. They said oh well, just have the company send you another one. Well, it was absolutely the last one in existance. We posted notes up and down the road. A neighbor got it and had already returned it in US mail. The next day USPS delivered it to us. (UPS now does a better job with us)

I always put Del conf now. At least people know your telling the truth. What a mess!

Well, obviously, the consensus is that she deserves nothing more from you. BUT, Delivery Confirmation is not what it's cracked up to be, I can tell you from personal experience. The Charlotte, NC P.O. did not scan one I paid for four months in a row, even after I wrote letters to the appropriate person in charge AND got refunds for the ones I paid for. Sometimes they do not scan them even when you pay for one. And I've had similar problems with with Atlanta P.O.'s not scanning Del Conf. All it really does is prove you mailed the item on a certain date.

I have only seen one other Redding Ca. member on here. It sure makes you want to stand up and say NOT I.... LOL At the very least remove your location from your profile. Redding is feeling the heat as it does this time of year. Hope you can get those eggs Ellie and just maybe they are still alive and kicking waiting for some lovin.

That sucks.. I agree with the general consensus here.

Just thought I would throw in my shipping story here. I ordered some vet supplies, including vaccines online and had them shipped fed ex. Usually they do really well and I watch the tracking page like a hawk. Especially when I have vaccines coming.

Lets just say on the day of 'delivery' I was home. I watched the truck pull into our driveway. We are the last house on the road we live on and it is a dead end. Then they proceeded to turn around and drive away! Well I hopped on the phone, got through the annoying computer automated stuff and then asked why the heck they didn't drop off. The dispatcher said that they had not reported that the didn't drop off. Well I watched them turn around IN MY driveway! Oh. They were back about 1/2 hour later claiming that the house wasn't labeled well enough. I didn't mention the 3 inch lettering on the mail box they drove right past.

When I was a kid the house we lived in was hidden behind some other buildings and had a funky address. Whenever they had a new or sub UPS or Fedex Driver they could never find the place. Don't know how many times I had to call Customer Service.

On the other hand I have always had good luck with the PO.

I don't give refunds period - As long as I have done my part which is to have my birds lay - I collect - I wrap I ship - I can't do anything else -no matter how many disclaimers you have there are people who still think you can do more- You can list all the hazards and people will still get mad -- they think it only happens to others ---

I hope it works out for you --

Email your tracking number and ask her why she didn't pick up the eggs knowing that as time passed, they'd be less viable. You don't owe her a dime. She could have contacted you before buying other eggs if there was a problem. Sounds kind of selfish on the buyer's part.

I just recently ordered eggs as well. They were shipped out right away, last Tuesday, and the stupid postal service didn't get them to me until this past MONDAY!!! A stupid week! For Priority Mail!
The delivery confirmation is a joke, as they often do not update the website info. I tried to track these eggs and the whole time it never showed anything.

I agree with everyone else, if she is too lazy to get her eggs then that is her fault.

I have never given a refund and only once replaced some eggs, but the buyer had to pay the shipping; and that was in CA.......
