Bad leg problems

Could even be some kind of bone defect. Hard to know with out vet help. I had a Muscovy drake that’s legs got week but he was about 9 yrs old for the last two years of his life I carried him from his house to his part of the property and back of an evening . He could walk some but not far and it was a challenge.

The problem is he’s alright for a bit, then bad for a bit, then okay for a bit. It fluctuates. Which makes me think it may be something like arthritis rather than the Niacin.
I don’t know if really young birds can get arthritis? But like Miss Lydia he could have some deformity. Have you tried giving him turmeric? It’s an anti inflammatory.

So I’d say the calcium isn’t a good idea. I know it’s not healthy for drakes or other male birds to have the extra calcium but just wondered if his bones maybe weak. Maybe @Gerty0630 can get some really good pics if his leg and a video of him walking.

I’ve not done turmeric but I have been putting chamomile flowers in the water which is also anti-inflammatory
