am I just getting old? Every morning I wake up with a sore back. Sore enough I have trouble getting out of bed. Within a 1/2 hour to an hour it goes away, and I feel fine all day until the next morning. Am I just getting old or is my mattress no good?

How old is your matress?
You could just be old, but depending on the type of matress and the abuse it gets... (Mr saddi is what I call a "flopper" normal people roll over, he crashes into the bed).

We just switched to a memory foam in Feb (the price was sublime) and much less snap crackle and pop in the mornings.

I had that. Try sleeping in another bed or on the couch and see if you still have a sore back. Hopefully you won't find yourself as old as I am!

Heck, I dont know, lol, it's been here the 5 years I've lived here. It doesn't "look" all that old though. Good idea about sleeping on the couch to see if that makes a difference.

I got an expensive Serta that broke down about in the second year. Sagged in the middle and had to prop them up with rolled up blankets between the mattress and box springs. It is still awful for us to sleep in. Got no money yet to buy another one. I will NOT buy another padded top, non flippable mattress. I would go back to the old one but love those foam type beds but $3,000 for a queen, basic run of the mill priced us out. When we stand it on its side one time and wiggle it, it sounded like an accordian and moves easily. I do not know why it would break down so fast.

The one I got from JCP, they no longer carry mattresses, I loved it. It stood up for 15 years before we ended up getting this Serta.

Saddina, we have to check out that bed and see if they are just as good as the expensive beds at the mall. Have to read more about it.

I know mine is bad. It's over 10 years old now. I don't think I would like memory foam--seems like it closing around me would be really hot. I get way too hot anyway. My back aches every morning, toss and turn most of the night, too.

I tossed and turned and my back was killing me until we got our Tempur-Pedic 2 years ago... now both hubby and I sleep wonderfully

I had heard the horror stories, and after buying a Tempurpedic, I think none of them ever had one!!!! I will NEVER go back to a regular bed again. It doesn't swallow you and it doesn't feel like it is closing in around you, it feels like a cloud. Before we got it I was sure I needed a hip replacement. Within 2 nights on this bed, that pain was gone and has never returned!
