@Isaac 0 they were just out on the floor while I took the photo video. They had towels on the floor for the first 2 weeks and now they have non slip matting and shavings.

It is a stunning island with no foxes which is a real blessing. The chooks put themselves to bed when they feel like it.

We do have white tail sea eagles and golden eagles but they don't come down into the area that the hens are. When our small ducks enclosure is built it will be roofed. There used to be mink but they were eradicated. The only predator re really would be in someone's ferret escaped.
It is essential they come and go as they please really as this time of year it barely gets dark at all
