Just about through the thread! I'd agree. Apart from the obvious issues I've had with speckle, I hope I'm not tempting fate saying this, but I've not had any issues with them like I have with my standard hens. It seems to be one drama after another with the big hens but millie and speckle have been doing good. I will be getting more bantams in the future. And leghorns....terrific layers!I always had standard chickens and definitely stressed me right out..
I've had Bantam chickens for a year and have enjoyed them tremendously...ZERO stress..![]()
Every time you add new birds it changes because the others age...Pecking order with standard Birds is brutal and these bantams actually just go about their day without any drama and my Rooster is just a happy little dude ...I just added 5 new Pullets and nothing happened and I did zero introduction either...Just about through the thread! In an earlier thread I was told that the black one looked like a black sexlink, and the other a EE bantam. But all opinions on what you think are welcomeAdorable!!!...
Any idea on breeds because I can't help..![]()
Thanks, but that's alright. I love them for who they are, I don't have to be certain of the breedDefinitely cute little birds...
Post pictures of them standing up and someone will know..![]()
No. I prefer mutts over purebreds. However, I love my sebrights. Definitely one of my favorite breeds.@RoostersAreAwesome do you breed Sebright?
Really? That’s awesome!!! I thought she was just a mixed breed.
Cochins don't have a crest, beard, and black skin. She's a silkie mix.Definitely a nice bird. It's a Bantam Cochin..
Poor things.I said rescues cause when I went there the chicks bins were in bad shape. There was poop everywhere and there was no water in the watered. One of the chicks even had a cut that the other ones were pecking![]()
I'm not sure about the top chick (maybe black OEGB) but the bottom one is a d'anvers.I’m honestly not sure either![]()
Do you know the colors of their parents?Mine are Rosecomb/ Old English game Bantams crosses. Just the both have that colour. Almost lavender/lilac with orange neck feathers...
I see a crest.@oldhenlikesdogs
Is this Hen a Cochin? I think so...
