BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My eldest bantam Cochin hen has barely moved in three days. She's 4.5years and just seems very tired. No appetite, no interest in treats. No other symptoms, other than her poo is understandably small.

Is 4.5 years old for a bantam? She hasn't laid an egg in 17 months.

I'd say she's getting up there in the years, most of my chickens died around 3-4. I did have two that lived to be six though, one is still alive. Right before the other died she was showing some of the symptoms you described :(

I'm still not 100% sold on this "guy". He's 11 weeks old now and his comb started getting a little red but then didn't change like I expected it to. Or maybe it's just me really wanting him to be a her! Thoughts? 100% Roo or still hope until he crows?

I believe it's a hen mine are not that old and two of them show definite roo coloring and size.

Definitely a girl, maybe she was just early maturing?
She's pretty. Mine are 12 weeks and my Pullet had the same size comb... I'll go take pics.

So sorry to hear about your girl! :hugs My girl passed away shortly before her 4th birthday, so reading what others have posted, she may be on the older side:(
