BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely adoring my silver penciled girl who we've named Quaker for her lovely white collar. But as I've been studying chicken colors and genetics, I've noticed a very distinctive barring on her feathers. Is she still classified as an SP, but with autosomal barring?

She is beautiful! :love
Hey guys! Mind if I join? I have 3 Mottled Cochin bantam chicks that just turned a week old yesterday.

I actually am not supposed to have these birds, but Meyer Hatchery randomly charged my debit card and sent me 11 bantam chicks without my consent, and refuse to do anything about this error.

So here I am with three Mottled Cochin bantam chicks! Lol I am hoping to keep them, however, my mother is not pleased with the new additions, so I am going to have to convince her to let me keep them......wish me luck. ;) I'll try to post pictures of them a bit later.

For the record, I will not be ordering from Meyer again, who has expierence with My Pet Chicken? I am thinking about switching to them.

Welcome and CONGRATS on your accidental babies! Bantam Cochins are sweet little girls!!!:celebrate

Thoughts on this girls color? I liked how dark blue she hatched, but expected more lacing. She is still young, March/April hatch, I'd have to look back. Her type is pretty good though.

Sweet little Molly here is almost 24 weeks old. Fingers crossed she will be my first egg layer. Think I’ll get an egg for Christmas with this one? How old have your pullets been for a first egg, and anyone with luck for winter layers with this breed? :fl

My frizzle Cochin bantam laid at around 23 weeks. Laid for two weeks then went broody. My gold laced Cochin bantam is about 7.5 months and no egg yet. Good luck. She's pretty.

I have one I used to have 2. I have a hen and I am looking for a rooster. My hen is 3 months old.

This is my hen when she was a chick. I don’t have a good picture of her older.
