BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Icewing was sitting on my shoulder and SHE ATE MY EARRING!!!! it was a post with a sparkly green stone/glass.

I can feel it in her crop.

Those were my favorite earrings too :(

I don't feel like separating her until I find it in her poop so... guess I'll get new ones.

... but what if another chicken comes along and finds it and eats it too???
Oh no!!! Hopefully it will be hidden in poop so the others won't even see it???? Crazy chickens LOVE shiny things!!!

Well, I posted her awhile ago but I'm still getting 50/50 so I got some better pics.

In the last photo I have her next to her brother who has been a very obvious roo since about week 3-4. They are 7 weeks now.

So, the yellow/tan one....pullet or cockeral??

This is Buffy one of 8 Cochin chicks. I also have two Black Mottled four reds and one with spots on red backround so not sure of his color.

Hi! I am new to the world of bantam cochins-- we added one to our flock of OEG bantams. What have you found to be the normal egg-production of these fluffy birds? Our hen is ~6 months old, and she laid 2 eggs in one week. Then she just quit! She hasn't laid an egg in over a month. What gives?!

Mine tend to start laying late...around 8 months so maybe your girl is just getting those eggs going! Mine lay pretty regularly....4-5 a week , but go broody often. Also, we live in.the mountains so cold weather stopped egg production from oct-Feb. They are ADORABLE little babies!!!

When I first got my first bantam Cochin hen from a freind (she was around a year old, not sure exactly) but she didn't lay for a few months. When she did start laying she layed the cutest little speckles eggs 6 days a week. She's the only chicken I have that lays speckled eggs. Sometimes she stops laying for a few months :/ ?

My other Cochins don't lay that often but they don't quit for months.

Sorry
Anyone here have extra pullets they'd like to sell and ship? I was out of town and my flock suffered quite the tragedy due to some forgetfulness on my husband's part... :(
To hear about your tragedy I have a bunch of chicks but they are mixed Silky/Brahma bantums. Hope you find what you need

Thank you, that sounds like a fun mix! I'm looking mostly for birds at least a few weeks old that will make for nice "productive pets", not sure if I have the heart to brood a third batch this year after all our recent losses.
