I only hatched 5 boys out of 15 chicks this year

Those two are inseparable maybe because they are the only bantams out of 12 or maybe because they have been together sense they were the size of A lemon don't know but they never get more than 5 ft of each other.
I was thinking of letting them have A couple babies see what happens

This is our 5 mos old gold laced banty Lizbeth. She's an indoor girl and currently getting her second set of adult feathers. She will probably start laying shortly after that. She shares our home (but not a pen, yet) with another banty, Gurtrude, who is a year old Easter Egger, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 parakeets and 14 rats. Oh, I almost forgot, she lives with six humans as well.

The thing is out of my 13 Silky/Brahma mixes that I hatched only 4 we're cockerals. Go figure. The Cochins I bought from TSC who buys from hatcheries 5 out of 8 were cockerals same for others who bought from hatcheries the majority were cockerals What's up with that?

I love, love, love my new little fuzz ball! She's 7 days old now and I picked her out of a group of 3 black chicks from a breeder. Today I noticed that she has one new feather with a touch of white on it. Is there a chance that she is not going to be solid black? I believe she is too dark to be a mottled Cochin, but this is my first time owning chickens so I'm not sure. Also, she's growing much slower than the standard size pullets I have? Is that typical for bantams or is that an indicator that she is actually a he? At what age are you usually able to tell if a bantam Cochin is a pullet or cockerel? Thanks for answering all of my questions! Everyone on this site is so much help!

Black chicks will have white feathers, especially on their wings but by the time they're all grown up they won't have any white
