Ok I'm checking with my expert team of biological scientists.
A co-worker of my husband told him that we did not have to worry about snakes around our chicken coop/run. Flock shares a pasture and their run is within same area of Barbado sheep. He said snakes would stay away from poop because they don't like the smell (well, ya).

Is this true? If it is, I'm going to start bagging it and selling as deterrent!

I have mesquite and wild persimmon trees and have actually seen a snake skin high in some branches so I'm not convinced.

I'm going to do some research, in the line of " snake enemies are, goats, donkeys, etc...." If they are, wouldn't that be great??!

Dont believe it.

I have snakes in my barns and pastures, and Dorper's cant be that much different than Barbados in the poop department

Of course this is true. And I have a real bargain on a bridge to sell !!

Seriously, I don't see why this would be true.

Per a request, here is one of my Barbado. The 9 month old Ram, Buthead.

We have chicken coup in sheep pasture, tho doesn't look like pasture at this point. More like a wide tree line. Sorry if this is in wrong place. Just wanted you to see the situation.
