Barbu de Watermael thread?

Annnnd now they are all mean!! Look! Look at my sweet loving cuddly girls! Look at this cruelty! Gosh I hope this is not forever :(

😳spicy little girls. Mine are 11 weeks. All sweet right now even the three boys.I kept 4 girls and 3 boys only because I have other hens for them to run with. The ones with triple spikes. Even my blue quail has gotten a better third spike.😁 They sure have big personalities

Everybody seems to be chilling out. There's some shifting dynamics still but the aggression coming from all the young ones is subsiding. Agate has begun mating the young girls.

I weighed every little girl a day ago. My heaviest is Pearl at 465 grams, then Onyx at 435 grams, and the other three girls are all 420 grams. So small!! Waiting to see any tiny eggs.

First watermael egg today! So tiny!!

I have found a bush stash. Cinnabar has been laying for at least a week in one bush. I panicked thinking I had lost her, and instead found her doing the deed in secret. I stuffed a watering can under there. What small eggs oh my gosh. 15 grams, 16 grams, and 3 17 gram eggs. Wow! That's literally quail size eggs.

Sharing a few pictures of eggs today. We're still working on getting our eggs in the right spot but it's improving! Look at these tiny eggs! They're so small they lay sideways in a regular chicken egg box. Picture of watermael egg next to one of my d'anvers eggs, and a bog standard jalap.

All the girls have almost entirely quit with the bitey nonsense. Agate and I are getting along just fine. Everything seems good, kinda. We got some health issues going on but nothing serious. Aura has begun to molt her wing feathers to an extreme, and I think Agate mounting her has damaged some budded blood feathers and now she is flighty. If anyone has suggestions on how to protect her shoulders, I'd appreciate advice. (Advice on treating bumblefoot on faverolles feet, also appreciated.)

My neighbor's plum tree is cascading over my fence into my property, and the chickens are having a time of it. They love these plums, and will run to a fallen plum to poke a hole in it and, of course, stuff their whole faces into the plum hole. We got some sticky, dirty faces here at house Ladd. Picture of Jasper with Toka Bubblegum Plums. I've got 4 pounds I've taken from my side of the fence. I'm gonna make plum butter.

Hi there! I have been thinking about adding these to my list of breeds I want to hatch. What do you think of them? Are they nice? Do you like them?

Also do you think I'd have any luck selling hatching eggs or chicks? I'm not sure enough people know about these to sell. I want a breed I can sell too.
