I hope you have had those cats neutered or spayed. Otherwise you are soon going to be overrun with cats. Personally I have never had trouble with the cats bothering the chicks. They just never showed any interest in them. I have no idea why. Maybe it because the chicks were either with a protective mother hen or because the areas where I had my chicks were cat proof.

Nope.. Not my cats and neither are spayed yet.:/ im looking into the cheap spay groups around here to help my mom cover costs asap though. Im pretty sure one is pregnant already.

Rats and moles suck... The cats are worth their weight in rat removal. I will just guard my chicks well until they can defend themselves.

And pray for a broody hen one day.

The cat can be spayed even if pregnant. Trap neuter and release programs do it all the time.

That requires aborting kittens?? Ive lost too many babies in my human life to even consider aborting any pregnant creature...

If you feel you can't afford to spay the cats you have now, how are you going to afford to spay and neuter the coming litter? Millions of perfectly healthy cats and kittens are put to death every year in this country. There are simply not enough homes for all of them. Feral cats are decimating the song bird populations in many areas of the country and in some cases are even causing the extinction of vulnerable wildlife. I don't want to start a war, but in my view it is unconscionable to add to the problem. Sorry.

Well as i stated previously these are not actually my cats so i will not be paying for them. IF they do have kittens before she has the money to spay them i will find them homes, which shouldnt be too hard since everyone around here is always posting looking for kittens.

These are kittens that wandered down from my cousins house so not really feral, they are sweet and come to people..

If you would like to contribute to the spaying of my disabled mothers cats i will give you my P.O. box address... Haha

Be thankful your cats work so hard! Remember cats reproduce like rabbits and you'll soon have 25 or thirty running around unless you deal with it. You'll just have to keep your chicks penned until they are big enough to fend for themselves.

Oh i am! They brought another mole up to my patio last night!
