Does anyone think those large broody nests will work? It wouldn't be wrong to close one in with food and water, would it?

You guys have done an awesome job!

I think the size of the broody boxes should work just fine. Possibly a little on the small size but it would depend on the size of the hen and the number of little ones she hatches. And, they only need to be in there for about two weeks or so.

No it would be fine. Maybe just let her out to excersize every so often. A broody would stick pretty close to the nest anyway.

Oh I know, I was more concerned with the chicks dive bombing off the nesting box.

Shellie,
I can't believe how much you have accomplished! It looks great. You are going to have a very happy family, both in and out in your new home.

We actually found that in the shed before we converted it. My son's been playing with it, but he's dangerous with climbing, so DH stuck it in the barn for the chicks.

And thanks everybody. I'm really excited it's almost finished... Now my chicks need to grow faster and use the stuff!

I hope I can get a find like that! I want to move to the country and have a couple acres so bad....I'm jealous.

That is great work and such cute chicks. Are you naming one of the EEs Waldo?

Nope. The EEs are Luna, Ginny and Cho from Harry Potter. I think Ginny may be a roo, so it could likely be Godric instead.
