He is perfectly healthy mentally and would not retaliate. I will think on giving him notice today or tomorrow.

Tinted, I'm inclined to agree with everyone else. Just GO. Show up with your trailer the day you move out, get your horse and stuff, and leave. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to have someone there to help you.

I don't think you owe him even 24 hours notice with the level of rudeness you've been shown over the years. Can you imagine how rude he's going to be when he finds out you're leaving?

Do not worry about giving notice. We have a large breeding operation in KY and our clients give anywhere from months to hours notice. If you do not have transportation, send me a pm and I can give you a list of names of horse haulers. There are lots of openings at almost all boarding facilities in KY for all disciplines, and there is no reason to stay in that situation. Have a current coggins and have your vet write health papers once you have decided where you are going. If you do not have a vet, send me your location in KY and I can refer you to someone. You are supposed to enjoy your horse and not worry about his care.

The ball is in your court.....

Don't let his bad behaviour dictate yours. If you feel the right thing to do is to give notice then do that. And by the way, I am a feminist so hate even to say this, but I never met a cowboy that barrel raced. Steer wrestle, yes. Saddle bronc , yes. Barrel race, no.
