Too bad you are not closer. I have 5 one week old babies and a 7 week old pair that all need homes.

I have two 3-week-old cockerels. I'll trade you a cockerel for a pullet. LOL.

I have a Barnie girl from her and she gives me 6 eggs a week! She isn't as wide as the wyandotte or the Lt Sussex, so I assume she is on the bottom of my 4 hen pecking order, but she is gorgeous and a real producer of a nice darker brown Terra Cotta Egg! They are my first hens and I've had them about 2 weeks now. I'm thinking she is the 2 year old!

Guess I should take pictures of them!

We want CHICK PICS ASAP!!

I don't think you have to sacrifice quality due to cost... I got eggs from members of these forums at a very reasonable price and their stock is as good as it gets.

Tried that but all the good ones stopped shipping :) spent $50 on my first 12 only one hatched $25 on the next set none hatched. This one is from a small family run farm. I really just wanted eggs and a pretty bird to lay them. I don't plan on breeding and selling, so these are really more or less pets. Maybe when I get more experience I will invest in a higher quality bird. Who knows I might end up with a diamond in the ruff

I hear ya... It can be discouraging. I have read in many places by many people not to give up in regards to hatching. You'll get what you want if you stick with it. Good luck with this batch... What is the hatch date? Keep us posted!

O'h I will. This group is great! Trisha has been really helpful. I am on her waiting list for next season (when I know what I am doing)
