Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

this was my first batch of shipped eggs. I got them from Trisha. (The packing was impeccable!!) I let them sit at room temp in an egg carton for 30 hours, because I wanted to give them at least 24 hours, and was hoping to watch most of them hatch.

The hatch has started. One baby hatched while I was at work!!

11 to go...

Sad news from me this evening....

Came home from work and found my one and only barnevelder chick dying....I rushed to get it some cool water (thinking maybe it was too hot), but it died in my hand. I am very disappointed. Other than one Delaware that I had to help out of the egg, this is the first chick I have lost....not fun! I do have 9 barnevelder eggs in the incubator, but they spent 5 days in the mail...so I am not sure how they will do.
