Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

thanks for the comments i thought that was what happening.
wlima is/was thetop hen and was mum to the rooster. she wont let himnear and used to bully him .

she has no hair on her head and blood was everywhere and the waddles/combs were bleading badly, i found her behind the shed shaking , i know she not happy as ive been trying to get her back in the group but the second she goes into the garden he attacks - ive not been there as i work during theday its my mum who lets her out and she said the second she steps into the garden the rooster runns and " attacks" wilma she said the first thing the rooster does is run head down and the leap into the air with his feet to her head and then pins her down rippin out more of her feathers near her head and her wings.
everytime this happens wilma poos just pure warter until she can hide backin door inher hospital bed !

i do love he little guy i think he is great and i understand the fighing im jsut stuckin a hard place with my mum as she is really upset and is not understanding this at all :(
Okay, THAT is not normal. I'd get rid of him in a heartbeat. Not good genes to pass along to offspring - no room for a mean rooster here.

I got rid of a gorgeous rooster that would attack me every time I went into the run. (not my kids, not DH, just me) I finally got tired of having to constantly watch my back (and explain all the bruises on my legs - he had a knack for breaking blood vessels) - so he's gone now. It was a tough choice because he did have good qualities - he was great at watching over babies and protecting them.

Finally! I figured out the picture thing. I have to do from my desk top.
Here is the Barnie hen I got from on Craigslist. I am told she came from Andy's Farm ( Mountain View Orchards ). I will try for a full body picture later todayl Love the Vivid Lacing That Goes all the way back.

She's lovely!

I know! I am still blown away that a quality hen, only a year old was up for grabs. Usually they are spoken for in seconds. The add was up for a week.

Beautiful hen:) Andy has some good stock. She looks like she has more vB and/or KC in her than Johan. Those lines tend to produce darker hens with really good lacing. You've got a really nice hen:)

Is it just me and my monitor or does that lacing appear to be more golden than bay red? I recall seeing some of Andy's birds on here last month or so and I thought they were really very nice. This pullet is a nice looking bird but the lacing appears to me to be more golden. I only ask because the OP says she was "told" the bird came from Andy's farm - which leads me to believe there is a possibility that it didn't.

Andy, where are you? Weigh in and let us know what you think!

God Bless,
