Hi, please help me with the gender of my 4 Barnvelders, I’m pretty sure the wheatbar on the left in pic 1 is a boy, the small pale comb center is a girl, any hope for the other 3 being pullets?

If you are talking about the black ones, I highly doubt it. How old are they? It looks like 4 cockerels and 1 pullet to me.

They are 10-11 weeks now I think... been so busy it’s a bit of a blur. Hatched October 13th. I was really hoping someone would tell me I was wrong about the 3 with the brighter combs... at least they are dual purpose birds, unlike all my Sapphire boys. I would love to get better pics of them for you, but they are quite skittish and wild. These were the best I’ve managed to get so far!

How about my Marans? There a definite cockerel BCM, big bright comb and huge wattles... I’m hoping thes two are pullets though

Although they look like pullets to me (hoping!) I’ve seen them sort of puff up and face a few of the known males...

I’m pretty sure my Olive egger is a cockerel too, the mottled grey/brown with the cheek muffs?

Hi Ms. Kris! :D My daughter has a young Barnevelder roo (should be crowing now but there are no wimminz around to inspire him LOL) and he's been pitch black from the beginning, with green and less-noticeable purples on the top of his wings. She's thinking all but the one with the stenciling on the feathers are boys.
