hi, i’m trying to gender velvet as shes showing more.. rooster behavior?

she flaps her wings quite a lot while the others dont as much as her, she attempts to crow? i think.

and her coloring is just much more roo like, help?

sorry, does pullet mean female?
Until they are a year old, a female chicken is called a pullet (rhymes with bullet) and a male is called a cockerel.

After their first birthday, the female becomes a hen and the male is called a rooster. The pullet will likely have been laying eggs long before that, and the cockerel was probably crowing as well. Enjoy!
 
So far, I would call this a female, but I would prefer to wait for the feathers to come in a bit more. These down feathers can be deceiving.

For your notes, the barred rocks are a special case in sexing. The females appear much darker than the males due to the "barring" being on their sex chromosome. The males will be double barred (double white). By week 3-4, this one might have enough feathers to make a solid guess.
