Barred rock age of laying

what age do barred rocks start to lay? I know where I can get some barred rocks about 2 months old. I was also wondering if it would be wise to get these pullets now this time of year.

Must pullets will start laying between 20 -30 weeks. My BR have always started around 21-22 but they are all spring chicks. Yours will probably be a little later because they are maturing in the winter. I would expect them to start mid March, early April. I'd go ahead and get them now. If you wait until spring, you won't have eggs before August. It's no more work to have a few non producing pullets mixed in with your flock.
