Barred Rock chick. head down, lethargic, feisty LAST NIGHT

But she CAN (or appears to be able to) eat and drink some...

They are very cute. I believe you are doing an excellent job of caring for the little ones. I had a baby tuxedo Japanese quail hatch with wry neck, to the point where he would stick his head between his legs and roll over. With a little force feeding (The little one didn't like that) he was eating and drinking well. A bit of quail therapy he was fine in no time!

This was Minion's first day... Obvious that something was BAD wrong... https://www.facebook.com/jennifer.c...70011978768/10210469849814714/?type=3&theater
I see things now that I hatch, which I haven't experienced before. This video does seem somehow informative to me. It's something I haven't seen before but will be able to better recognize if and when I do. Seems like if you do enough hatching, it's just a matter of time before you do see something like this. Though I don't hear a lot about it.

Junebug looks really good! Seems like your therapy and effort are paying off. :yesss:

Minion is a perfect name for a peg leg pirate chick... Arrr! :p

Today is the first day Junebug has gone almost all day with only one episode. That was in the morning. Her head was down because she sleeps with her head down rather than under her wing and it was stuck in the down position but since then she has been acting normal all day...FINGERS CROSSED it maybe almost beat!

I'm glad to hear she is getting better :fl

I originally had put some eggs in the incubator with the Silkies that were suppose to go my friend but only two barred rocks hatched and one chick died from an infected navel stump. After spending $189 at the vet for this one and the Silkie biddy with the slipped tendon, June Bug maybe a keeper...
