I have a one and a half old barred rock that had some belly feathers fallout or something about 2 1/2 months ago. We also switched coops right before that. She stoped laying eggs since then and her belly feathers are not growing back what should I do? The rest of the chickens are fine and she doesn't have mites and she's not stressed. In fact she's the happiest chicken in the coop!

Could she be melting. I don't believe chickens will lay during their molt.
It is awful hot down in TX!! :gig

Could be molting...kinda early but it can happen.

Post pic of feather loss, please?
Are you sure she's not laying, do you free range?
Were any new birds added to flock when you switched coops?

We got to 110 yesterday. I don't think hot even describes it 😭

Melting does tho...was playing on your typo(melting instead of molting).
Is it humid there too?
And melting does describe it perfectly. My babies spilled their water in their portion of the coop. They heard it from me while I was out there cleaning it up and dying.

she's not laying and I don't free range because there are dogs that roam free. No new birds were added to the flock. I don't think she's molting because it's just her belly feather that won't grow back.

That is the best picture I could get. The pen is muddy because it rained
